Peewee Polo League
The Toronto Polo Club Peewee polo league was established for kids 14 years and younger that would like to learn the sport of polo. In the beginning the league mainly consisted of children from Toronto Polo Club families. However, as word spread about how much fun the league was, more and more kids came out to give polo a try. Today, the league is very popular and is played on Saturday mornings throughout the winter and summer seasons. The league is organized and coached by Alix Begg. Alix also offers polo lessons at her farm during the week. The kids that participate in the peewee polo league or polo lessons are taught how to groom and tack-up their ponies, and they even learn how to bandage and braid a proper polo tail. On the field they are taught swing technique, rules of the game, and most importantly safety. Alix also runs two kids polo camps during the summer.
